Gearing Up

I know it is a little early to start buying gear for my adventure but I want to start researching the best footwear for hiking and fitness center work outs Kick boxing, areobics, treadmill etc. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to respond.

  1. Hi Karen! This will be an exciting journey for you, and I bet the 31 weeks leading up to it might be the best part. You get to learn all the things you need to know to make your experience the best! As far as footwear goes good ache support is key, but some things require lighter weight and others more tread for cushioning. A good place to start is an all purpose shoe for the treadmill and aerobics and maybe a special one for hikes.....Do they have a list of supplies/things you will need-they would know best....In the mean time start walking more everyday....even walking in place will help condition you.
Spring is coming and we can all get back into shape a bit more when the weather changes and we shed those big sweaters we see the need!!!
    All the best,

  2. Yea Karen, There is a hill and plenty of good roads for walking where you live. Linda had a good point, you might want to start training right now, so you can "keep up" and get the most out of the trainers when they start putting you through their program. I know someone that is holding bootcamps every sat morning at 10am here in middletown for $10. per class. If you are interested, let me know and I will do them with you, but start with yoga, stretching and walking to get back your flexability and build some stamina. (ctjamie)
